He hit .336 with 21 home runs, 26 doubles, 95 RBIs and 68 stolen bases over the first 127 minor league appearances..\n<\/p>\n<p>Griffin went 7 for 16 with three doubles and three stolen bases over his first five appearances this season for the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 Minor League Baseball Player of the Year is now on track to join the Pirates&#8217; lineup for a game against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Baltimore-Orioles\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Baltimore Orioles\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Baltimore Orioles<\/a> on Friday in Pittsburgh.\n<\/p>\n<p>The first pitch for the Pirates&#8217; 2026 home opener is set for 4:12 p.m. EDT at PNC Park.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Pirates (3-3) are in a three-way tie with the Chicago Cubs (3-3) and Cincinnati Reds (3-3) for third place in the National League Central.<\/p>\n<p>They are two games behind the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers (5-1) and one game back of the second-place St. Louis Cardinals (4-2).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Jared Triolo started at shortstop in five of the Pirates&#8217; first six games. The Pirates started Nick Gonzales at the position during an 8-3 win over the Reds on Tuesday in Cincinnati.<\/p>\n<p>Triolo went 3 for 20 (.150) to start the 2026 season.
