Bo Bichette\u2019s first few days with the New York Mets<\/a> certainly didn’t go as planned, but he’s used to the spotlight. We have to remember now that this is a young man who has been hyped since he was a kid in high school.<\/p>\n

Of course, playing in Major League Baseball, and especially playing in New York, brings a different type of pressure than he’ll ever have to deal with elsewhere, but if somebody is ready for it, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it’s a guy who has led the league in hits twice throughout his career and has played at the highest level since he was a young man.<\/p>\n

Admittedly, though, he even went so far as to say that nothing can prepare a player to play in New York.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think anything can prepare you for New York,\u201d Bichette said<\/a>, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. \u201cI\u2019m not unaware that New York is a challenge. I\u2019m not shying away from it. I\u2019m ready for it, and I\u2019m excited for it. These fans hold you accountable, and I think as a player wanting to be your best self, that\u2019s only a positive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hearing him admit that playing in New York is tough wouldn’t be ideal if he didn’t say what he added to his comments.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Not only does Bichette understand that playing in New York comes with a lot of pressure, but he’s ready for it, and even challenges fans to know that he’ll be ready to go when needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I’m excited about this era in New York, as Bichette is going to do really good things for this organization, in my opinion.<\/p>\n
