The Boston Red Sox<\/a> are 1-5 to start the season, and the offense has not been great so far. Trevor Story outlined what he needs to get on a roll after a slow start.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox have 10 players with an OPS below .700 right now. It’s still very early in the season, but the results have not been great. Wilyer, Abreu, Connor Wong and Carlos Narv\u00e1ez have hit well, but the rest of the team has not found its rhythm yet.<\/p>\n

Trevor Story leads the team with 29 plate appearances, but is just 4-for-29 with 13 strikeouts and no walks. Story detailed what he needs to do better<\/a> to start seeing some results at the plate.<\/p>\n

\u201cPersonally, I\u2019ve got to be a little more disciplined, finding and hunting the one I want,\u201d Story told MassLive’s Christopher Smith. \u201cAnd not missing it when I get it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Story slashed .263\/.308\/.433 with 25 home runs last season. It was his best season in years, and the first one since 2021 where he was healthy. He came into the season with high expectations and still has time to turn things around. The Red Sox will need him, and others, to start swinging the bat well if they want to make a World Series push this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI try to look at things in a positive sense,\u201d Story said, per Smith. \u201cMaybe this is good this is happening now and a little gut check and we figure it out \u2014 we make the adjustments. But we know we have a great team. We know we can be good. So it\u2019s just about us, the players, to make the adjustments that we need to make. And we have time on our side, but there\u2019s urgency, for sure.”<\/p>\n
