Coming into the season, some were not sure what to make of the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>. They traded their ace, Freddy Peralta, over the offseason, largely focusing on Brandon Woodruff to perform well this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, those who enjoy the sport should know by now not to count this club out. Even when they lose great players, they still find a way to be competitive.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They have started the season about as well as they could. They are 5-1 so far, sitting atop the NL Central, much like they have done in the past.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brice Turang and Jacob Misiorowski are fueling the Brewers hot start<\/p>\n

Right before the season kicked off, the team learned they would be without one of their young stars, Jackson Chourio. He was placed on the 10-day IL as he is dealing with a hairline fracture<\/a> at the base of the third metacarpal in his left hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chourio was hit by a pitch in the World Baseball Classic, and initial X-rays were negative, but an MRI during the spring revealed the damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This should have been a big loss for the team, but it has not been, thanks to players like Brice Turang and Jacob Misiorowski. According to Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller<\/a>, they have been on fire to start the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Of particular note, Brice Turang is already doubling down on last year’s breakout at the plate with four doubles and a home run, and Jacob Misiorowski has been lights out on the mound with 18 strikeouts through his first two starts.”<\/p>\n

You also cannot overlook what Christian Yelich has done early in the season. Across six games, the veteran is hitting .381\/.435\/.524 with one home run and seven runs batted in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Manager Pat Murphy always seems to get the most out of his club, and this year seems to be no different.<\/p>\n
