Griffin was selected with the ninth overall pick of the 2024 MLB Draft out of high school in Mississippi, one year after the Pirates took <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/paul-skenes\/1452064\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/player\/paul-skenes\/1452064\" target=\"_blank\">Paul Skenes<\/a> No. 1 overall out of LSU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Griffin appears set to join a growing list of anticipated prospects to sign long-term deals before making their MLB debuts.
