The New York Mets will try to get their offense back on track when they visit the San Francisco Giants tonight.<\/p>\n

San Francisco is going through its own struggles at the plate, and I\u2019m taking New York to pick up a road win in my Mets vs. Giants predictions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Who will win Mets vs Giants today: Mets ML (-118)<\/p>\n

Both teams are looking to recover from early offensive struggles, but it\u2019s San Francisco<\/a> that has been truly putrid at the plate early this season. The Giants are dead last in runs per game at 2.33 and are second-worst in MLB in terms of OPS (.558).\u00a0<\/p>\n

New York Mets<\/a> starter David Peterson<\/a> showed a little regression in the second half of 2025 but came out strong in his first start this season, throwing 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The Giants have struggled even more against left-handed pitching this year, so I like New York to pick up the win tonight.<\/p>\n

\"Covers\" COVERS INTEL: The Giants were poor against left-handed pitching in 2025 as well, hitting .214 with a .631 OPS against southpaws last season.<\/p>\n

While nobody is hitting quite as badly as the Giants right now, the Mets are going through their own issues at the plate, scoring 3.83 runs per game so far. New third baseman Bo Bichette somehow has a .249 OPS, while Francisco Lindor is hitting .143. Overall, New York is hitting .162 with runners in scoring position to start the year.<\/p>\n

The Mets aren\u2019t getting a break in this pitching matchup either, as San Francisco is sending 2021 Cy Young Award winner Robbie Ray<\/a> to the mound tonight. I\u2019m taking the Under at a generous 8.5 runs.<\/p>\n
