ANAHEIM, Calif. \u2014 J.P. Crawford\u2019s rehab stint lasted all of one game.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, the Mariners reinstated Crawford from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Ryan Bliss back to Triple-A Tacoma.<\/p>\n
Crawford played in the Rainiers\u2019 home opener on Tuesday, going 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout. He was scheduled to play one more rehab game on Wednesday. However, persistent rain throughout the day forced the cancellation of the game at Cheney Stadium.<\/p>\n
He dealt with recurring shoulder inflammation and fatigue for much of the spring, playing in only seven Cactus League games. He received a cortisone injection about 10 days before the start of the season and remained in Arizona when the season started, playing in minor league spring training games.<\/p>\n
The Mariners optioned Bliss to Tacoma after Wednesday\u2019s loss to the Yankees to close out the opening homestand. He was expected to be in uniform for the Rainiers on Thursday. Bliss played in one game for the Mariners, entering as a pinch-hitter and getting two plate appearance, going 0-for-2.<\/p>\n
The Mariners also placed right-hander Ryan Loutos on unconditional release waivers after designating him for assignment on March 31 to make room on the 40-man roster for Colt Emerson, who signed a long-term Major League contract.<\/p>\n
Loutos was on the 7-day injured list for the Rainiers.<\/p>\n
