There’s a handful of semi-quality starters available. Lucas Giolito tops the list of available starters, but a depth option is southpaw Tyler Anderson. He’s 36 years old, but has made 25+ starts in four straight seasons. That seems like enough production for at least a minor league year.

“Anderson didn’t excel in a lot of areas, but he did rank in the 80th percentile in hard-hit rate in 2025. Forcing soft contact with an elite defensive team behind him can lead to success. This is a flier worth taking given the position Toronto is currently in,” wrote Rotman.

In 2025, Anderson made 26 starts with the Los Angeles Angels and boasted a 4.56 ERA over 136.1 innings. In 2024, Anderson was an All-Star with the Angels, and he also made the All-Star team in 2022 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which was arguably his best season as a pro.

GettyLOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – MAY 17: Tyler Anderson #31 of the Los Angeles Angels looks on against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on May 17, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.
