The team’s High A affiliate, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, are excited about their share of those young start on the roster in Grand Chute.

Five of the Brewers’ top fifteen prospects will start their season with the Timber Rattlers. Part of first year manager Nick Stanley’s job will be to help prepare the young talent to get them to the major leagues. He liked what he saw from them earlier in spring training.

What You Need To Know

According to Baseball America, the Milwaukee Brewers have MLB’s top-rated farm system

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will start the season with 5 of the team’s top 15 prospects

19-year-old infielder Luis Peña out of the Dominican Republic is the Brewers #2 rated prospect

Number six prospect Andrew Fischer recently played for Italy in the World Baseball Classic

“I feel good about the talent we have. There’s a lot of development to go. There’s going to be ups and downs, which is what’s expected and kind of what you want at this level, that’s how you learn. But, all in all, the talent is going to be really exciting,” said Stanley.

Brewers #6 prospect, 2015 1st round draft pick Andrew Fischer, made a name for himself recently while playing for Italy in the World Baseball Classic.

“It was a great experience for me. It was something that, I’m grateful that the Brewers let me go and do it. Got their blessing pretty early on, and they seem to be pretty fond of it. And I was excited that I went and I think all players who have the opportunity to go should go. It’s something you can’t replicate anywhere else,” said Fischer.

(Spectrum News 1/Jon Fuller)

Signed out of the Dominican Republic, the Brewers’ #2 prospect, shortstop Luis Peña, is only 19-years-old.

“My job is to bring some excitement. One of my goals is to stay healthy. So that way I can make sure then, the team can count on me and just continue to develop myself. So that way, I can help the team in the big leagues,” said Peña through an interpreter.

Brewers’ #10 prospect, catcher Marco Dinges, provided some power last season. He hit 10 home runs in 51 games with the Rattlers. Right behind him at #11, Josh Adamczewski, a 15th-round pick in 2023, said draft status doesn’t really matter at this stage.

“You always have a chance coming up. It doesn’t matter where you were picked,” said Adamczewski. “You’re always going to have the opportunity to just come out and show what you can do. It’s a great organization to be in to follow through with that.”

(Spectrum News 1/Jon Fuller)

Stanley began coaching in the Brewers system in 2018, getting his start in the Dominican Summer League. He takes the philosophical lead from the Brewers organization.

“I think Murph and our front office, it’s been proven that if you can help us win, you’re going to get a chance, regardless of where you came from and what your prospect status is or was or is going to be,” said Stanley.

As if they needed any more motivation, the prospects can look to Jackson Chourio and Cooper Pratt. They both spent time with the Timber Rattlers and both also signed long-term contracts with the Brewers before playing a single game in Milwaukee. It’s clear to see the organization’s commitment to its future stars.

“That’s exciting for those guys and that’s exciting for me knowing that everyone in that room’s got a legitimate opportunity to play in the big leagues for the Brewers,” said Stanley.

Minor league baseball tends to emphasize player development, but Fischer said the best baseball players are the guys who also win games.

The Timber Rattlers fans hope to have a front-row seat to watch some future stars and winning baseball this summer.

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. — When Baseball America rated the best farm systems in Major League Baseball, the Milwaukee…

[3
556,560,5,84341,4,169,185,558,1519
0":"post-661257","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mlb","8":"tag-app-sports","9":"tag-app-top-stories","10":"tag-baseball","11":"tag-jon-fuller","12":"tag-mlb","13":"tag-news","14":"tag-sports","15":"tag-top-stories","16":"tag-wisconsin
["GET
