Over 41,000 fans rolled up to Nationals Park in Washington D.C. on Friday in the home opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers. <\/p>\n

Many patrons grabbed a few drinks and snacks outside at Tap 99 in Navy Yard just an hour before the first pitch. <\/p>\n

“We’ve been coming to Opening Day since it started, since they’ve come back,” Bobby Dwyer, a Northern VA resident told 7News. “Its the love of baseball to me,” he added. <\/p>\n

“its a beautiful soring day no better day to be in D.C. than opening day baseball,” Dwyers friend added. <\/p>\n

Just a few rows done were Dodgers fans, Brad and Jessica Lynch, who were visiting Nats Park for the first time. <\/p>\n

“Dodgers aren’t afraid to spend money, they got a good roster…a lot of people say the Dodgers buy their championships, that’s not true because you still have to play the game – you got to hit the ball, catch the bal.,” Lynch said. <\/p>\n
