The New York Yankees<\/a>, on a mission to prove that it\u2019s the coolest MLB<\/a> team ever, wrote a note for a fan to be excused to watch the first day of the season.<\/p>\n

The situation unfolded when a popular X account that posts clips of the Yankees, New York Rangers, New York Giants, and New York Knicks, decided to (jokingly) ask if the team could pen a note that excused them from work duties so they could watch baseball instead.<\/p>\n

Eight minutes after the initial tweet was posted, the Yankees\u2019 official X account responded with a picture of the note. It read, \u201cDear Yadira\u2019s Boss, please excuse Yadira from any work obligations she may have on April 3, 2026,\u201d the Yankees wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s Opening Day in the Bronx. Enough said.\u201d<\/p>\n

Afterward, several fans asked for similar messages so they could be excused, but the Yankees account decided to, instead, post pictures from Opening Day. Realistically, it\u2019s impossible to write notes for everyone to be excused from their jobs, so sharing moments that fans want to see \u2014 that can be accessible while they\u2019re on the clock \u2014\u00a0is just as much of a win.<\/p>\n

The Yankees are off to a strong start for the new MLB season,\u00a0particularly rising star pitcher Cam Schlittler. In the Apr. 1 game against the Seattle Mariners, the young player had a stat line that has never been quite matched in the history of the MLB. He finished the game with 6.1 innings, 2 hits, 0 earned runs allowed, 0 walks allowed, and 7 strikeouts. No starting pitcher has ever had that exact line.<\/p>\n

After the game, Schlittler spoke about the prestige of the 27-time World Series champions and trolled their haters. “We’re the Yankees.
