The Chicago White Sox have been one of the weakest teams in the first week of the season. Their abilities on the mound have failed to live up to the hype. The team needs to figure out ways to pitch better in order to win games. One outlet is not too thrilled with the pitching performances so far this season. Let\u2019s take a closer look at the outlet and what the White Sox\u2019s issues are right now.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report\u2019s Kerry Miller wrote an article discussing the winners and losers in the first week<\/a> of the MLB season. One of the losers was the White Sox pitching staff<\/a>. Below is a snippet of what Miller wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly two White Sox pitchers have a sub-4.50 ERA\u2014Lucas Sims, who pitched two scoreless innings in Wednesday\u2019s 10-0 loss to Miami; and Anthony Kay, who had a 3.86 ERA in his season debut in the rotation, albeit with a 6.41 FIP that suggests even that was fool\u2019s gold.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fun news here (unless you\u2019re a White Sox fan) is we might be on the fast track to a scenario where Murakami\u2014who signed a two-year, $34M deal this winter\u2014enters the All-Star break with 30 home runs for a team that is 30 games below .500, thus becoming one of the biggest, gettable names on the trade block.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the first six games of the season, Chicago has an 8.63 team ERA. This is more than three runs above the second-worst team currently. Chicago needs to figure out how to correct their pitching woes, as it cannot survive with a league-worst .319 opposing batting average through two series. It will be interesting to see how the team is able to do better on the mound going forward.<\/p>\n
