According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WillSammon\/status\/2040409161301672128?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Athletics&#8217; Will Sammon<\/a>, Jackson is signing a minor league contract.<\/p>\n<p>The Mets have been average to start the season, and finally hit the .500 mark with their 10-3 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/mlb\/san-francisco-giants\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco Giants<\/a> on Friday. Despite the average start, the Mets&#8217; bullpen has proven itself to be one of the stronger parts of the roster (fifth-best in <a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/mlb\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Major League Baseball<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/stats\/team\/pitching\/era?split=rp&amp;sortState=asc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">1.93 ERA<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLuke Jackson will add depth to an injury-riddled Mets bullpen<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/mlb-chicago-white-sox-at-texas-rangers.jpg\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"width: 100%;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJun 15, 2025; Arlington, Texas, USA;  Texas Rangers catcher Kyle Higashioka (11) celebrates with Texas Rangers relief pitcher Luke Jackson (77) after the game against the Chicago White Sox at Globe Life Field. Pitching for the <a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/mlb\/texas-rangers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Rangers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/mlb\/detroit-tigers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Detroit Tigers<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/mlb\/seattle-mariners\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle Mariners<\/a>, Jackson appeared in 52 games (51.0 innings), going 2-5 with a 4.06 ERA, tallied nine saves, and struck out 38.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Mets&#8217; bullpen had to deal with some injuries heading into the season. Right-hander Reed Garrett will miss all year after having Tommy John surgery, while left-hander A.J. Minter (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/mets-injuries-and-roster-moves\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">left lat surgery<\/a>) is a month behind other arms on the staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Minter won\u2019t be available until early May. The plan for Minter is to pitch in rehab games at Port St. Lucie before moving on. Right-handed Tylor Megill will also miss the entire season, as he had Tommy John surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Right-hander Justin Hagenman, like Minter, is also slowly working his way back.
