Atlanta Braves outfielder Mike Yastrzemski has a legendary last name, being the grandson of MLB<\/a> Hall of Fame player Carl Yastrzemski. However, he also has a long last name, which could\u2019ve made it difficult to learn to spell as a child. Braves radio play-by-play broadcaster Ben Ingram shared an awesome story on how he learned to spell it as a child.<\/p>\n

Ingram exposits the story in the top of the eighth inning of the Braves\u2019 17-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. \u201cMy grandmother had a really clever trick to help me learn to spell my last name,\u201d Yastrzemski said to Ingram. \u201cWhen I was a little kid, I loved Mickey Mouse, and my grandmother discovered that there are the same number of letters in \u2018Yastrzemski\u2019 as in the song \u2018M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yastrzemski has been solid since the Atlanta Braves signed him to a two-year, $23 million contract over the last offseason. He\u2019s hitting .226\/.360\/.455, with six hits, including the team\u2019s only triple. He went one-for-four at the plate with a double, two walks, two RBIs, and a run in the Braves\u2019 win over the Diamondbacks.<\/p>\n

Yastrzemski\u2019s grandfather, Carl, was an outfielder who played 22 seasons (1961-1983) with the Boston Red Sox. He made 18 All-Star appearances, won seven Gold Glove awards, and won the 1967 AL MVP. The Baseball Hall of Fame elected him in 1989, the same year the Red Sox retired his No. 8 jersey.<\/p>\n

Braves current record<\/p>\n

The Atlanta Braves is sitting at 6-2, leading the NL East in this early juncture in the season. They have the highest run-differential in the league, with a +29 run differential. Their only two losses were against the Kansas City Royals on March 29 and the Athletics on March 31.<\/p>\n

The Braves have two more games against the Diamondbacks on April 4 and 5. They only need one win to take their third series this season.
