Wrong. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7k\">\u201cBobby Jr.\u201d a 1-year-old sulcata tortoise, made his big league debut in the Brewers\u2019 clubhouse Friday and is staying with the team at least through their weekend series against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium, and hopefully longer.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7n\">Like most jokes around the Brewers\u2019 clubhouse these days, it all started with back-to-back National League Manager of the Year Pat Murphy.<\/p>\n<p>How \u2018Bobby Jr.\u2019 became the Brewers\u2019 unofficial mascot<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-5\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7t\">Back in August, during an Apple TV broadcast of a game between the Brewers and Nationals, Murphy was being interviewed by reporter Tricia Whitaker when he admitted that sometimes he pulls out a pancake out of the back pocket of his baseball pants and eats it during games. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7w\">He then proceeded to pull out a pocket pancake and shared it with Whitaker.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-8\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"83\">On Friday, the Brewers were scheduled to be back on Apple TV, meaning Murphy would interview again with Whitaker. Murphy racked his brain for what he could pull out of his pocket that wasn\u2019t a pancake. So, of course, he landed on a tortoise. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"86\">According to Brewers TV reporter Sophia Minnaert, Murphy paid Kansas City\u2019s visiting clubhouse attendant Barrett Paulson $500 to visit John\u2019s Exotic Pet Store, located about two miles away from Kauffman Stadium, to purchase \u201cBobby Jr.,\u201d a tortoise named after Royals superstar shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"89\">\u201cThis is Bobby Jr., in honor of my friend Bobby Witt and his son, Bobby Jr.,\u201d Murphy explained during a pregame interview with Whitaker. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to pull out pancakes, so here we are. Sulcata tortoises like Bobby Jr. grow to surpass 100 pounds in weight and can live up to 70 years.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-13\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"8i\">So while Whitaker flew out of Kansas City on Friday night, Bobby Jr. stayed with the Brewers as their unofficial mascot.
