Trout saw two pitches from Woo, the first was up and in at Trout’s head and the second was in the same area and got him on the shoulder. Trout wasn’t too thrilled about it for obvious reasons, but cooler heads prevailed and nothing arose from the situation. Hancock was outstanding against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday, pitching six no-hit innings with just one walk and nine strikeouts.

Kochanowicz and Hancock had polar opposite debuts, but the Astros are one of the best offensive teams early and the Guardians haven’t had the same kind of luck, so it’ll be interesting to see how these two fare against one another.

Seattle’s pitching staff gets a lot of attention because the starting rotation is chock-full of great arms, with Hancock being the fourth starter in the rotation. The Mariners own the third-best ERA (2.68) and have struck out the third-most batters (88) in Major League Baseball through eight games.

Los Angeles’ offense is one of the worst despite a high-scoring series against Houston, posting the worst batting average (.186), strikeouts (92) and the seventh-worst OPS (.627) but the most walks (39) and third-most home runs (10) through eight games.

First pitch is at 6:38 p.m. PST on MLB.TV and regional sports networks.

The Los Angeles Angels pitched a great game in its home opener but could only muster just one…

[2390
291,5,762,51,12342,764,54,758,3509,94,3992,1165,446,3223,774,56,3224,3222,603,4,3923,2099,65
0":"post-663624","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-angels","8":"tag-angels","9":"tag-baseball","10":"tag-bryan-woo","11":"tag-cleveland-guardians","12":"tag-cole-young","13":"tag-emerson-hancock","14":"tag-houston-astros","15":"tag-jack-kochanowicz","16":"tag-jorge-soler","17":"tag-josh-naylor","18":"tag-julio-rodriguez","19":"tag-la","20":"tag-la-angels","21":"tag-laangels","22":"tag-los-angeles","23":"tag-los-angeles-angels","24":"tag-losangeles","25":"tag-losangelesangels","26":"tag-mike-trout","27":"tag-mlb","28":"tag-reid-detmers","29":"tag-scoreless-innings","30":"tag-seattle-mariners
["GET
