The New York Yankees<\/a> don\u2019t usually sit still when there\u2019s a chance to get better, and despite their rotation being by far the best in Major League Baseball to start the season, if an ace becomes available for the right price, I’d expect Brian Cashman to be all over it.<\/p>\n

There are expected to be a few names available for the Yankees to land during the trade deadline, and FanSided\u2019s Austin Owens predicted that Sandy Alcantara would be the guy. It remains uncertain if the Miami Marlins<\/a> want to move on from Alcantara right now, as they also have something brewing in Miami, but depending on the price, it could make sense to trade him.<\/p>\n

\u201cMiami ace Sandy Alcantara has seen his name floated at each of the last two trade deadlines, but 2026 feels like the year the right-hander finally heads elsewhere as the constantly cost-conscious Marlins look to stay ahead of his free agency.<\/p>\n

“And with the top-of-the-line stuff he possesses, and how well he’s started the new season, he figures to fetch a nice price with the New York Yankees particularly interested in making a midseason rotation upgrade.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being an elite rotation at the beginning of April doesn’t mean a whole lot for teams around the league.<\/p>\n

This Yankees rotation looks like it has a real opportunity to be the best in baseball come October, too. Once they add back some of the starters who have been hurt, plus possibly adding an arm like Alcantara, there’s absolutely no reason why the Yankees couldn’t come out of the American League.<\/p>\n
