Before the start of the game, Lewis took the mound with a Budweiser in hand, raised a toast to 21 years of Nationals memories and led fans in a<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NationalsPark\/status\/2040534513952907616?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0ceremonial first sip<\/a>. Lewis also received a special surprise video message for her birthday from her favorite Nationals legend, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Nationals\/status\/2040545721317748892?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ryan Zimmerman<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"photo__main\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/cc35201c-b21f-4e86-ac6a-5209ed07e31e_1140x641.jpg\"  alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Nats celebrated their 21st birthday with party hats, Budweiser giveaways, live music and a special happy birthday sing-along during the game. On opening day, there was also a photo opportunity for fans to snag pictures with the famous<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NationalsPark\/status\/2040512899404152987?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0Budweiser Clydesdale<\/a> in Center Field Plaza.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, some of the weekends festivities were dampened as the Los Angeles Dodgers take a 2-0 series lead during the Nationals home opening weekend. After suffering a 13-6 loss on Friday, the score was almost identical on Saturday, 10-5.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Dodgers scored in almost every inning besides the last two when they were up by 10 runs after Kyle Tucker hit a single that gave the green light for Alex Call to score. The Nationals had cold bats until the third inning when Luis Garcia Jr. sent a triple to right field, allowing Jacob Young to score. But by then, the score was 6-1 and the Nats went on to score just four more runs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Nats fall to 3-5, 0-2 at home.
