One definition of insanity is trying something again and again and expecting different results.<\/p>\n

It’s probably not ideal that the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> appear to be approaching that level of decision-making with one of their relief pitchers.<\/p>\n

That’s how Brendon Little has things feeling in the early going, though.<\/p>\n

Each time the left-hander takes the mound, he gets shelled. He has a 24.55 ERA, and it’s getting worse, not better.<\/p>\n

Little has already pitched in five games this season, and only one outing was scoreless.<\/p>\n

He allowed three runs in his first 0.2 innings against the Athletics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Then against the Rockies two days after, he gave up four runs in 0.2 innings.<\/p>\n

Two days after that, Little gave up another run to the Rockies in one inning.<\/p>\n

He threw a scoreless frame against the White Sox on Friday, but then on Saturday in Chicago, Little gave up three runs and recorded just one out.<\/p>\n

This is a guy who had a 3.74 ERA in 49 appearances in 2024 and followed it up with a 3.03 ERA in 79 outings in 2025.<\/p>\n

It makes sense that Blue Jays manager John Schneider would enter this season with a lot of trust in Little.<\/p>\n

Right now, though, Little can’t keep getting the baseball in key moments. He’s not getting the job done at all.<\/p>\n
