Orix Buffaloes ‘s Miyagi, having secured his milestone win, raised his sights even higher. “This 50th win is thanks to the support of the manager who gave me the opportunity to play and everyone around me. I won’t forget my gratitude and will continue to add to it one win at a time.” He earned his first win of the season with 6 innings runs, 3 strike out allowed, and 8 runs, reaching 50 career wins in his 117th game, the fastest for a left-handed pitcher in the team’s history. He also succeeded in getting revenge just five days after his opening game against Rakuten Eagles on March 27th (Kyocera Dome), where he was pulled after 1 2\/3 innings, tying his personal worst record for both games.<\/p>\n

He was the first starter win of the NPB group to participate in the WBC. “I’m nervous and I feel pressure…,” he said, his heart racing before his second consecutive big performance, but he did not forget to show concern for his fellow players. \u25c6Record Notes Miyagi (Orix) earned his first win in his second appearance of the season. He has now reached 50 wins (30 losses) in 117 appearances. In terms of the number of games required, he is the third fastest to reach this milestone among homegrown players of the team, after Kotaro Mori (97 games) and Shigetoshi Hasegawa (116 games).
