Missouri catcher Julia Crenshaw was named a third-team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The honor comes after the senior had the best statistical season of her collegiate career. Crenshaw finished with a team- and career-high .361 batting average with 56 hits, 14 doubles, 14 home runs and 32 RBI. She also scored 48 runs and stole 26 bases.<\/p>\n
Crenshaw\u2019s five leadoff homers were tied for second in the country. Her 37 walks were the seventh-most in a single season in program history, and her .723 slugging percentage this year is the ninth-best in program history.<\/p>\n
Defensively, she caught an SEC-best nine runners stealing and finished with a .983 fielding percentage.<\/p>\n
The O\u2019Fallon product is the 27th Tiger to be named an NFCA All-American and the first since outfielder Alex Honnold earned second-team honors in 2023.<\/p>\n
Crenshaw was one of 54 players honored by the NFCA. Women\u2019s College World Series participants Oklahoma and UCLA led the pack with four All-Americans apiece.<\/p>\n
Although the Tigers had a down year \u2014 finishing with a record of 25-31 \u2014 Crenshaw consistently showed up. Her brightest moment of the season came April 18, when she went 3-for-3 with a home run in Mizzou\u2019s 9-1 run-rule victory over then-No. 1 Texas A&M. Eight days later, she slammed two homers in a 7-6 loss to then-No. 15 Alabama.<\/p>\n
