A day after the offense carried the load, the Philadelphia Phillies flipped the script.<\/p>\n

This time, it was pitching, defense and just enough timely hitting. <\/p>\n

Trea Turner delivered the go-ahead RBI double in the fifth inning, and Jes\u00fas Luzardo handled the rest, as the Phillies edged the Rockies, 2-1, on Saturday at Coors Field. <\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t loud like Friday\u2019s 10-run breakout. It didn\u2019t need to be. <\/p>\n

Two runs were enough. <\/p>\n

Turner was involved from the start. He worked a leadoff walk in the first and came around to score when Kyle Schwarber dropped a broken-bat double down the left-field line to give the Phillies an early lead. <\/p>\n

Colorado answered in the third. Troy Johnston singled, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on Brett Sullivan\u2019s RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. <\/p>\n

From there, it turned into a tight, clean game \u2014 the kind that doesn\u2019t always show up at Coors Field. <\/p>\n

The Phillies broke through in the fifth. Brandon Marsh singled to start the inning and moved up as the lineup kept the pressure on. After advancing on balls in play from J.T. Realmuto and Justin Crawford, Turner stepped in and lined a double to left, bringing Marsh home with what proved to be the deciding run. <\/p>\n

Crawford added a moment of his own later in the inning, swiping second base for the first stolen base of his major league career. <\/p>\n

That was all the Phillies needed behind Luzardo. <\/p>\n

Making his second start of the season, the left-hander was sharp from the outset. He worked 6 2\/3 innings, allowed one run on five hits, didn\u2019t issue a walk and struck out 11. It was a clean, efficient outing \u2014 especially important in a ballpark that can get away quickly. <\/p>\n

Luzardo left with two outs in the seventh and a runner on, and the bullpen handled the rest without much trouble. <\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Alvarado recorded the final out of the seventh. Brad Keller followed with a scoreless eighth. And Jhoan Duran closed it out with a perfect ninth for his third save of the season. <\/p>\n

The win pushed the Phillies to four straight and secured the series. <\/p>\n

After Friday\u2019s offensive outburst, Saturday looked different. <\/p>\n

Same result.<\/p>\n
