WASHINGTON, D.C.\u2014Entering the 2026 regular season, the Los Angeles Dodgers have had to manage multiple injuries on their infield, including utilityman Tommy Edman<\/a> and fan-favorite Kik\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n

However, they\u2019ll now have to add another name to that list, as All-Star shortstop Mookie Betts<\/a> is heading to the 10-day injured list, per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Betts was removed from yesterday\u2019s game after the top of the first inning. Betts started his day at the plate with a walk and later scored on a Freddie Freeman<\/a> two-run double, and was seen gingerly walking to the dugout.<\/p>\n

Veteran infielder Miguel Rojas<\/a> replaced Betts at short for the remainder of the game.<\/p>\n

After the game, Roberts stated that it was right lower back tightness for Betts and that he would undergo an MRI that night to determine how severe it was. Still, Roberts put it as \u201cmore moderate than significant.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, before Game Three in D.C., Roberts confirmed that the MRI Betts received revealed a right oblique strain and that the shortstop would head to the 10-day injured list.<\/p>\n

In yesterday\u2019s postgame, Roberts did confirm that in the short-term, Rojas and Alex Freeland<\/a> would share the duties at short, and the team also announced that utilityman Hyeseong Kim<\/a> has been recalled from Triple-A.<\/p>\n

Hyeseong Kim Recalled from Triple-A<\/p>\n

To replace Betts on the 26-man roster, the Dodgers have recalled infielder Hyseong Kim from Triple-A Oklahoma City before today\u2019s game on Easter Sunday.<\/p>\n

Kim was one of the Dodgers final roster cuts late in spring training<\/a>, despite the fact that many fans despise as the Korean-born infielder impressed in Cactus League play, hitting .407 with a .967 OPS.<\/p>\n

Still, upon Kim\u2019s return from the 2026 World Baseball Classic, the Dodgers were still unsatisfied with his swing, hoping that a short stint in Triple-A would allow him to make the necessary adjustments.<\/p>\n

In 26 at-bats for the Comets this season, Kim was hitting .346 with two RBIs and an .823 OPS, and will likely play a mix of second, short, and center field in his time with the big league club.<\/p>\n
