He’s 37 years old, but he’s also a three-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner with serious pedigree. As a depth piece, nothing more and nothing less, LeMahieu is still worth a look. No team scoops up former Yankees quite so frequently as the crosstown Mets, who almost make it a point of pride.”

The Mets lack some infield depth, which makes LeMahieu a possibility, but it’s important to note his offensive stats have been very poor the last few seasons.

In 2025, LeMahieu hit .266 over 128 at-bats with 12 RBI and an OPS+ of 91. In 2024, he appeared in just 67 games and posted a brutal .204 average with an OPS+ of 52.

More MLB on Heavy: Red Sox Get Bold Take by MLB Writer After Slow Start to Season

Other Mets News:

The New York Mets are currently out west, taking on the San Francisco Giants.

On Friday, a scary incident took place with Juan Soto and his calf.
