Seattle Mariners third baseman Brendan Donovan is out of the lineup for a second straight day, with utilityman Leo Rivas again starting in his place for Sunday afternoon\u2019s series finale against the Los Angeles Angels.<\/p>\n

Why Mariners can handle pressure of high expectations<\/a><\/p>\n

Donovan hurt his groin<\/a> while trying to beat out an infield grounder in the seventh inning on Friday night, which caused him to jam his right foot into the dirt. Mariners insider Shannon Drayer reported that Donovan is day-to-day<\/a>. An MRI on Donovan\u2019s groin came back clean<\/a>, according to MLB.com\u2019s Daniel Kramer.<\/p>\n

Prior to Sunday\u2019s game, Donovan did some infield work at third base. He also hit in the batting cage on Saturday, according to Drayer.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, slugger Cal Raleigh will serve as the Mariners\u2019 designated hitter on Sunday, with backup catcher Mitch Garver starting behind the plate.<\/p>\n

The Mariners will face Angels right-hander George Klassen, who is making his MLB debut. Klassen is starting in place of right-hander Ryan Johnson, who was scratched with an illness<\/a>. Klassen, 24,\u00a0is the Angels\u2019 No. 4 prospect<\/a>, according to MLB Pipeline.<\/p>\n

Veteran right-hander Luis Castillo will make his second start of the season for Seattle. The three-time All-Star tossed six scoreless innings of three-hit ball in last Monday night\u2019s 2-1 win over the New York Yankees.<\/p>\n
