The Seattle Mariners appear to have learned their lesson after Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell’s highlight-reel catches in Saturday’s 1-0 loss.<\/p>\n

After Adell robbed three would-be home runs to preserve the one-run victory for the Angels, the Mariners put one thing on their game plan for Sunday’s series finale:<\/p>\n

Avoiding Adell might be easier said than done, as the seven-year veteran showed that no fly ball is safe when he’s patrolling the outfield.<\/p>\n

“After the first one, I was pretty fired up,” Adell said after the game, per the Associated Press<\/a>. “When I got to the second one, which looked identical to the first, I thought, ‘Wow, my routes are on point tonight.’ The third one was just grit. Top of the ninth, you have to get it done. It was crazy. You just get there, then it’s decision-making. The ball was hit high enough to where I could get there. I watched it [into my glove], fell over and ended up in somebody’s lap. I don’t know who it was, but it was a softer landing than I expected. The fans were as fired up as me.”<\/p>\n

The Mariners and Angels are both 4-5 entering Sunday’s rubber match, so both teams are surely hoping to emerge from the series at .500.
