The Bats got a solo homer from Michael Chavis in the bottom of the 3rd to cut the lead in half, but Iowa then scored four runs in the next two innings to put the game away.

Rece Hinds missed a home run by a matter feet in the 9th inning when he doubled off the wall in left-center. That hit kept his season-long on-base streak alive as he was 0-3 to that point in the game.

Tejay Antone has threw 3.2 perfect innings with five strikeouts to begin his season. After showing some control issues during spring training he’s come out and thrown 30 strikes on 42 pitches so far in Triple-A.

Top Pitch Velocity: Zach Maxwell – 99.3 MPH (ball)

Top Exit Velocity: Blake Dunn – 110.9 MPH (single)

Furthest Hit Baseball: Michael Chavis – 404 feet (home run)

The Chattanooga Lookouts won 4-0 in 6 innings. Box Score

Game Notes

This game, like the one on Saturday, began in a rain delay. But on Sunday that lasted just 15 minutes before they were ready to start playing. The rain came back, though, and in the top of the 6th inning the game was halted. It never resumed and was called final.

Austin Hendrick (pictured above) remained hot. He’s 6-12 on the season with five runs batted in through the first three games.

Carlos Jorge picked up his first two steals of the season in this one. Last year he stole 40 of them with Dayton in his 110 games.

The Lookouts pitchers walked a fine line – and a lot of batters – on Sunday. They issued seven walks in just 5.0 innings. Nick Sando and Jose Montero combined to throw 110 pitches with just 59 strikes. But they worked around all of the jams that they got themselves into without allowing a run.

Chattanooga is 3-0 to start the season. The last time the Reds had a Double-A affiliate start the year 3-0 was in 2010 when the Carolina Mudcats began 4-0. Sad fact: Last year was the last season that the Carolina Mudcats existed. The team was moved this season and are now the Wilson Warbirds.

The Dayton Dragons had the day off

They will get back on the field on Tuesday.

The Daytona Tortugas had the day off

They will return to the field on Tuesday.

Top 25 Prospects Rundown

4/6 Game Preview

Austin Hendrick homered for Chattanooga as two Lookouts pitchers combined for a shutout win and Louisville got homers…

[2400
5,535,50,4259,4,536
0":"post-665769","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-cincinnati-reds","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-cincinnati","10":"tag-cincinnati-reds","11":"tag-cincinnatireds","12":"tag-mlb","13":"tag-reds
["GET
