Last season, it was all about Pat Murphy\u2019s Pocket Pancakes<\/a> and other pocket snacks. Now, he\u2019s getting away from snacks and moving to\u2026 pocket turtles<\/a>? Well, technically a pocket tortoise, but pocket turtle has a better ring to it.<\/p>\n

While Milwaukee\u2019s Friday night game in Kansas City was rained out and rescheduled to a doubleheader on Saturday, Murph still met with Apple TV\u2019s Tricia Whitaker and showed her the newest addition to the Brewer family: Bobby Jr. the tortoise.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got a special guest I want you to meet today,\u201d Murphy said in the video. \u201cThis is Bobby Jr., in honor of my friend Bobby Witt and his son, Bobby Jr. I didn\u2019t want to pull out pancakes, so here we are. Now, we got pocket turtles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murphy chose Bobby Witt Jr.\u2019s name as an homage to Witt\u2019s representation of the game, adding that he\u2019s close with the Witt family.<\/p>\n

Per Adam McCalvy, Murphy and the Brewers had been brainstorming ideas for what to pull out of his pocket for this interview, and Murphy decided on his way to the ballpark that it would be a turtle. Then, he had to figure out a way to acquire one at Kauffman Stadium. Barrett Paulson, a Royals\u2019 visiting clubhouse staff member, went to John\u2019s Exotic Pet Store roughly two miles from the stadium and bought a sulcata tortoise with Murphy\u2019s money.
