The New York Mets<\/a> have some of the best superstars in all of Major League Baseball on the roster. Juan Soto, Bo Bichette, Francisco Lindor, and even Freddy Pertalta and Nolan McLean make up a very fun top of the roster.<\/p>\n

But there are plenty of other reasons to tune in to the Mets every night that they’re on. Luis Robert Jr. and Carson Benge are some fun outfielders, while Mark Vientos, Brett Baty, Kodai Senga, and many others make up a very watchable roster.<\/p>\n

According to David Schoenfield of ESPN<\/a>, a fun metric, the “Watchability Index” graded the Mets as the third-best team in MLB behind two of their bitter NL rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> and the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“3. New York Mets (29.5 points),” Schoenfield shared. “Star power: 13 | Young talent: 8 | Baseball stuff: 7. Bonus (1.5) +! for Mets broadcasting trio of Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling, _0.5 for wondering what will go wrong this year.”<\/p>\n

The Mets, out of a highest possible score of 40, scored 29.5, placing third in all of MLB, right in front of the Boston Red Sox<\/a> with a 28.5 score.<\/p>\n

But, they come just a hair behind the Dodgers, who placed second with a 30-point\u00a0“Watchability Index” score. But, there’s an even bigger gap to first place.<\/p>\n

Coming in as the top team in all of MLB by this\u00a0“Watchability Index,” the Phillies scored a whopping 33 out of 40, by far the best score of any team in MLB.<\/p>\n

There’s a reason why the Mets are a bit lower; the Mets only received 1.5 bonus points out of a possible five, while the Phillies got three bonus points for their ballpark, Trea Turner, the “best uniforms in baseball,” and the Phillie Phanatic.<\/p>\n

While the Phillies and the Dodgers, two of the Mets’ bitter rivals in recent years, place ahead of them on the\u00a0“Watchability Index” from ESPN, the Mets still are easily one of the best watches in baseball.<\/p>\n

Thanks in part to a great roster full of young talent and superstars in both the lineup and pitching staffs, there is always a reason to tune into Mets games this season.<\/p>\n

They’ve begun the year 6-4, ahead of the Phillies in the NL East, and only one win behind the Dodgers in the NL overall.<\/p>\n

While there are some long-term questions about the team, the Mets are one of the most watchable teams in baseball this year, placing third in this new fun metric from ESPN.<\/p>\n
