A boost on offense may be the first step in flipping the switch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Veteran Eloy Jimenez signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays during the offseason. The former Chicago White Sox and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/baltimore-orioles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore Orioles<\/a> slugger hit a personal best 31 home runs during his rookie year in 2019, but injuries and inconsistent performance derailed his career.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The right-handed slugger is best known for his time with the White Sox, garnering considerable hype as one of baseball\u2019s top prospects leading up to his big league debut in 2019,&#8221; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/eloy-jimenez-minors-deal-with-blue-jays\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MLB.com&#8217;s Thomas Harrigan<\/a> wrote in January. &#8220;Chicago signed him to a six-year, $43 million contract that March, days before his first MLB game.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>More:\u00a0<a target=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/miami-marlins\/news\/mlb-writer-marlins-sign-ex-phillies-80-game-suspension\/7a902e9712729237a2d3a4ac\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Marlins suggested to sign Max Kepler after Phillies<\/a>\u2019<a target=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/miami-marlins\/news\/mlb-writer-marlins-sign-ex-phillies-80-game-suspension\/7a902e9712729237a2d3a4ac\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> OF was suspended for 80 games<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/article\/jays-jimenez-off-to-hot-start-with-triple-a-buffalo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">TSN reports<\/a> that Jimenez won the Legends Player of the Week award for his hot start at the plate at Triple-A Buffalo.\u00a0He&#8217;s slashing .375\/.429\/.542 with one home run and five RBI in seven games thus far.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">ELOY \u203c\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>Jimenez earns himself the Legends Player of the Week honor! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/F9p6tjGYBM\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/F9p6tjGYBM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Buffalo Bisons (@BuffaloBisons) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BuffaloBisons\/status\/2041146153253875785?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">April 6, 2026<\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Could the Blue Jays consider calling up Jimenez? His defensive limitations could lead to a disheartening conclusion for the 29-year-old.
