The Baltimore Orioles recalled right-hander Brandon Young from Triple-A Norfolk to start Monday\u2019s \u200bseries opener against the host \u200cChicago White Sox.<\/p>\n
To make room on the roster, the Orioles sent southpaw reliever Dietrich Enns (foot infection) to the 15-day injured list, \u200cretroactive \u200bto Saturday.<\/p>\n
The spot for \u2060a starter opened \u2060up when Zach Eflin (right elbow discomfort) went on the 15-day IL last week. He left his start versus the \u200bTexas Rangers on March 31 in the fourth inning and is \u2060currently seeking a \u2060second opinion.<\/p>\n
Young, the Orioles\u2019 2024 \u200bMinor League Pitcher of the Year, made \u200b12 starts for the major league \u200cclub in 2025 and finished 1-7 with a 6.24 ERA. The highlight of his season occurred on July \u20608 when he recorded an immaculate inning against the New York Mets, fanning three batters \u2060on nine \u200cpitches in the top \u2060of the fifth.<\/p>\n
Young made one \u200bstart \u200cfor Norfolk, completing five innings \u200bat Memphis \u2060on April 1. He allowed one earned run on five hits, with no walks and four strikeouts.<\/p>\n
He did not face the White Sox last season.<\/p>\n
