On Tuesday, the New York Mets<\/a> will open up their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> (at Citi Field).<\/p>\n

The Mets are coming off a strong performance in San Francisco where they took three out of four games from the Giants<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That said, they lost Juan Soto<\/a> to injury<\/a> on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Before Tuesday\u2019s game, the Mets announced<\/a> that Soto has been placed on the 10-Day IL.<\/p>\n

In addition, they recalled a player from Triple-A.<\/p>\n

SNY Mets wrote:<\/a> \u201cThe Mets are recalling Ronny Mauricio<\/a> from Triple-A in a corresponding move to Juan Soto landing on the IL with a calf strain\u201d<\/p>\n

Mauricio is coming off a season where he batted .226 with six home runs, ten RBI\u2019s, 19 runs and four stolen bases in 61 games for the Mets.<\/p>\n

After playing in 26 games for the Mets as a rookie (2023), he missed the entire 2024 season due to injury.<\/p>\n

Right now, the 25-year-old is batting<\/a> .273 with one home run, three RBI\u2019s and four runs in eight Triple-A games this season.<\/p>\n

Due to Soto\u2019s injury, Mauricio will get a chance to prove himself over the next few weeks at the MLB<\/a> level.<\/p>\n

The Mets are 6-4 in their first ten games of the 2026 season, which has them as the second-place team in the National League East.<\/p>\n

They are 2-1 in the three games they have played at Citi Field.<\/p>\n

Following their series with Arizona, the Mets will remain at home to host the Athletics on Friday.<\/p>\n
