Germ\u00e1n M\u00e1rquez, a 31-year-old right-hander, earned his first win with the San Diego Padres, pitching five shutout innings and allowing six hits, striking out four, and walking one in Monday night’s 5-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. M\u00e1rquez, who spent his first 10 seasons with the Colorado Rockies, is trying to rebuild his career with the Padres after missing most of the 2023 and 2024 seasons due to Tommy John surgery and struggling in his final year with the Rockies in 2025.<\/p>\n
