FISHERTOWN \u2014 The Philipsburg-Osceola baseball team used a strong start by Archer Baughman and a balanced offensive attack to knock off host Chestnut Ridge, 10-1, Monday afternoon in Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference action.<\/p>\n
Baughman tossed a complete game, allowing one run (unearned) on seven hits while striking out six and walking just one in what was a low-scoring contest most of the afternoon.<\/p>\n
The Mounties opened things with a bang, as Parker Lamb belted a home run to right field to lead off the game. Philipsburg-Osceola took that 1-0 advantage into the fourth before adding on two more runs on a Connor Matier RBI single and Connor Guenot sac fly.<\/p>\n
Chestnut Ridge finally got on the board with a run in the sixth to break up Baughman\u2019s shutout bid, but the Mounties responded with a huge seven-run top of the seventh to break things wide open.<\/p>\n
Mounties Nick DeSimone, Ryan Kolbe, Lamb and Zach Yoder all had RBI singles in the outburst, while Baughman helped his own cause with a two-run single.<\/p>\n
Seven different players collected a hit in the win, with Lamb, Baughman and Yoder each having two, with Yoder ripping a double. Lamb, Baughman and Matier all had two RBIs.<\/p>\n
The Mounties (3-1) are back in action Thursday against Altoona in the Altoona Curve Classic. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
