Right-hander Sandy Alcantara is a major reason why, as he&#8217;s allowed no earned runs in his first two starts (16 innings) of the season, including a complete game shutout against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/chicago-white-sox\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago White Sox<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alcantara&#8217;s name has consistently popped up in trade rumors throughout the past few years. He won the NL Cy Young Award in 2022 but battled inconsistent performance in 2023 and 2025, and missed the entire 2024 season rehabbing from Tommy John Surgery.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Several teams, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/new-york-yankees\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York Yankees<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/los-angeles-dodgers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>, are rumored to have <a target=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/new-york-yankees\/news\/yankees-trade-idea-make-best-pitching-staff-mlb-history\/ff56df578c5df195fde4d22e\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">interest in making a trade <\/a>for the two-time All-Star.
