Colt Emerson, who signed an eight-year, $95 million extension with the M’s last week, remained as the organization’s top prospect.

Here’s what Baseball America had to say about Sloan after his massive jump in the rankings.

Sloan was excellent in 2025, which saw him dominate the Class A levels before eye surgery ended his season. He’s so far taken his game up another notch in 2026, performing as the star of the Mariners’ Spring Breakout game and earning a jump to Double-A. He’s got power, pitchability, a physical frame and a repeatable delivery. All those variables should add up to a fixture in a rotation full of homegrown success stories.

Though he only pitched in one Cactus League game, striking out one in one scoreless inning of relief, the 6-foot-5 Sloan drew rave reviews during Mariners camp. He showed a glimpse of why during the Spring Breakout game against the Milwaukee Brewers’ top prospects, tossing three perfect innings on 39 pitches while striking out three batters.

Sloan, 20, posted a 3.73 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP, 90 strikeouts and 15 walks over 82 innings in 21 starts across Single-A and High-A last season. After making just three starts with High-A Everett last year, he began this year with Double-A Arkansas, making his Travelers debut on Saturday night.

In Sloan’s first Double-A action, he struck out four and allowed three runs on five hits and one walk over four innings of work.

In addition to Sloan being the biggest riser in Baseball America’s updated prospect rankings, outfielder/second baseman Michael Arroyo was among seven players who joined the top 100. Arroyo, who had been ranked in Baseball America’s top 100 last year, checked in at No. 100.

The 21-year-old Arroyo slashed .262/.401/.433 with 17 homers, 24 doubles, one triple, 69 walks and 104 strikeouts over 121 games across High-A and Double-A last season. After playing 56 games in Double-A in 2025, he rejoined Arkansas to begin this season.

Arroyo hit his first homer of 2026 and played his first minor league game as a left fielder on Friday night.

Former Mariners catching prospect Harry Ford, who was traded to the Washington Nationals in a deal that brought left-handed reliever José A. Ferrer during the offseason, was one of two players who dropped out of the top 100.

Here’s where the five Mariners who made Baseball America’s new top 100 ranked, plus how far they rose or dropped from the previous January rankings.

• No. 7 Colt Emerson, no change
• No. 22 Ryan Sloan, moved up 28 spots
• No. 23 Kade Anderson, moved up two spots
• No. 56 Lazaro Montes, moved up two spots
• No. 100 Michael Arroyo, new addition

Seattle Mariners coverage

• Watch: Brendan Donovan homers on 1st pitch vs Rangers
• Seattle Mariners’ Cal Raleigh blasts 1st home run of season
• Seattle Mariners top prospect Colt Emerson on record contract: ‘It’s surreal’
• Why Seattle Mariners can handle pressure of high expectations
• Seattle Mariners prospect Kade Anderson delivers stellar pro debut

Follow @ZacHereth

Seattle Mariners right-hander Ryan Sloan made the biggest jump of any prospect in Baseball America’s updated top 100…

[2392
5,620,4,619,65,3235
0":"post-669355","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-seattle-mariners","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-mariners","10":"tag-mlb","11":"tag-seattle","12":"tag-seattle-mariners","13":"tag-seattlemariners
["GET
