Baseball America\u2019s updated draft rankings are an attempt to capture the industry\u2019s consensus on talent in the 2026 class. The list is compiled in consultation with MLB scouts, front office executives, scouting directors, college coaches and analysts. Ben Badler, Mark Chiarelli, J.J. Welcome to Baseball America\u2019s March update of our 2026 draft rankings, which expands the list to the top 300 players in the class and also incorporates in-season player information for the first time. <\/p>\n
The first in-season update of the draft cycle has historically been the most dramatic in terms of up\/down movement throughout the board. Things are steady at the top, though, with UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky<\/a> still the top-ranked player in the class and Texas prep shortstop Grady Emerson<\/a> ranked No. 2 as the top overall high school player.<\/p>\n UC Santa Barbara righthander Jackson Flora<\/a> takes over status as SP1 in this update, while Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron<\/a> and Georgia Tech catcher Vahn Lackey<\/a> round out the top five.<\/p>\n The No. 1 team in the country, UCLA, leads all schools with eight players ranked in the top 300. Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State and North Carolina each have seven players ranked. Orange Lutheran High School in California leads all high school programs with four ranked players.<\/p>\n In terms of committed players, the SEC dominates this ranking.
