Tuesday evening, though, the Phillies were sloppy in other areas on top of not hitting, with four of the runs they allowed being unearned.

Cristopher Sánchez gave up four runs over five-plus innings of work, but only two of those were earned, with a Trea Turner error in the bottom of the fifth inning making things worse for the lefty. Last year’s NL Cy Young Award runner-up wasn’t sharp this evening, though, as he allowed 11 hits. It’s the second outing in a row where Sánchez didn’t quite seem to be himself.

Yikes, I really don’t know how long of a leash you can give Otto Kemp in left field at this point. pic.twitter.com/qOr5cSZB6j

— Phillie Phacts (@PhilliePhacts) April 8, 2026

Otto Kemp looked uncomfortable in left field, while going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts at the plate. He’s started the season just 1-for-11, which is too small of a sample size to make a sweeping judgement. When coupled with Kemp looking subpar defensively, though, some will have a wandering eye towards Bryan De La Cruz.

Also worth noting is that J.T.
