Before Yoshinobu Yamamoto could take the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> against the Toronto Blue Jays for Game 2 of their World Series rematch, Dave Roberts<\/a> released his lineup, which initially featured Miguel Rojas starting at shortstop<\/a> but was amended to feature Hyeseong Kim in the same spot two hours later.<\/p>\n

While the team initially announced that Rojas was scratched to \u201ctend to a family matter,\u201d no further updates were announced before or during the game, which the Dodgers won 4-1 despite a very contentious seventh inning masterfully pitched by Alex Vesia.<\/p>\n

Talking to reporters in Ontario after the win, Roberts provided fans with an update on Rojas’ status, including whether or not he might play in the series finale<\/a>, according to The Athletic’s Sonja Chen.<\/p>\n

\u201cDave Roberts said Rojas is still in Toronto, but he was unsure whether he would be with the team tomorrow,\u201d Chen reported. \u201cRegardless of what happens, the Dodgers won’t bring an extra player up for the road trip finale.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the true heroes of the Dodgers’ World Series run in 2025, Rojas made an appearance for LA in Game 1 as a relief pitcher<\/a>, allowing one hit, one run, and one walk in a non-save ninth-inning appearance. While Rojas’ presence will be missed in the series finale if he’s unable to fill one of the team’s vacant infield spots, Kim and Alex Freeland were able to hold things down very well over the past few games and should be able to keep the Dodgers in line for the sweep in the series rubber match.<\/p>\n
