Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth inning, but his velocity wasn’t where Boston fans have come to expect. Chapman threw six pitches in his appearance on Tuesday night and topped out at 96.8 miles per hour with his fastball<\/a>. While this is the case, his average velocity was 93.9 miles per hour. Red Sox manager Alex Cora was asked about Chapman’s velocity after the game on Tuesday and he made it clear that the lefty is healthy, but was having trouble gripping the ball<\/a> with the weather conditions.<\/p>\n “No, he’s fine,” Cora said when asked if there was any issue with Chapman right now. “I’ll talk to him. He said that the ball didn’t feel great. You know, with the weather, it was tough. We’ll check on him, but he’s healthy.”<\/p>\n So, if you’re a Red Sox fan who was worried about Chapman’s velocity on Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers, you can let out a sigh of relief.
