HOUSTON \u2014 Almost exactly a year after opening a luxury pickleball facility in a prominent Midtown building, the team behind Houston-based Maven Coffee + Cocktails has shuttered the concept, which included a restaurant, bar and patio.<\/p>\n
Solarium,\u00a0which opened last April<\/a> in the space once occupied by Holman Draft Hall<\/a> at 820 Holman St., recently posted on its Instagram account that it was permanently closed.<\/p>\n While the exact date of the closure is not clear, Solarium\u2019s last social media posts were in February.<\/p>\n Rex Hospitality, which was co-founded by Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. and other high-profile business partners<\/a>, converted the 9,000-square-foot space at 820 Holman St. into a multilevel, sports-inspired lounge centered upon pickleball.<\/p>\n To open the club, Rex Hospitality worked with the Houston-based Kirby Group, which specializes in owning and operating high-end restaurant and bar concepts.
