On Tuesday evening, the Atlanta Braves<\/a> climbed back into the win column with a much-needed road win over the Los Angeles Angels<\/a>, but that was overshadowed by a benches-clearing brawl between Jorge Soler and Reynaldo Lopez<\/a> that resulted in ejections for both players. This wasn’t a typical brawl setup, as it occurred several moments after Lopez had thrown a high pitch, but it ended up in chaos on the field.<\/p>\n

After the game, Lopez kept it real on his view of the altercation.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s just a shame, the situation and how things unfolded,\u201d Lopez said through an interpreter, according to MLB.com, per ESPN News Services. \u201cOn my part, there was never any intent to hit him at any point. So again, it’s just a shame.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soler had been hit by a pitch earlier in the game, following a home run in his first at-bat, and evidently, the next high pitch that Lopez threw was his final straw.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I have good numbers against him,\u201d Soler said. \u201cAfter the home run and getting hit by a pitch after that, and then he missed way too high and close to my head. At this level, you can’t miss like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whatever the truth was, clearly, Soler and Lopez don’t see eye to eye on what happened leading up to the incident. At one point, Braves manager Walt Weiss ended up pulling Soler to the ground in an attempt to break things up, and as of yet, no suspensions have been announced by the MLB regarding the brawl.<\/p>\n

For now, the Braves will look to close out their series vs the Angels is style when they hit the field on Wednesday afternoon at 4:07 pm ET.<\/p>\n
