He had a quality outing on the mound.

Ohtani went 6.0 innings, allowing four hits, one walk and no earned runs.

He struck out just two hitters.

It’s actually a bit of a rare stat line. It’s the 25th time in baseball history a pitcher went 6-4-0-1-2, according to Pitchergami on X.

The fun factoid with this stat beyond that: The last time an MLB pitcher had those exact stats was Aug. 18, 2024, when Clayton Kershaw did it.

MORE: Andy Pages reminds everyone that he is human

Kershaw, of course, is the Dodgers legend and an all-time great southpaw.

Ohtani is a legend in his own right and continuing to do all kinds of special things each and every time he takes the field.

This one isn’t as immense a record as others, but it’s still a fun little quirk that ties Ohtani to the now-retired Kershaw.

The reality is that most pitchers in baseball history who threw six scoreless innings kept throwing — especially if they hadn’t thrown many pitches due to having only two strikeouts.

MORE: Yankees outfielder once battled ostrich in 11-plate spaghetti-eating contest

But on this day, Ohtani had long at bats despite the limited walks and strikeouts. That meant he couldn’t go beyond the sixth — and did pretty well just to get that far.

He wants to win the Cy Young this year, and allowing no earned runs in an early start will allow those stats to really look solid as the season continues on.

More MLB news:

The Los Angeles Dodgers took a disappointing loss in their series finale Wednesday in Toronto against the Blue…

[2406
5,39,1165,4332,4333,774,57,3224,4331,4
0":"post-671270","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-dodgers","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-dodgers","10":"tag-la","11":"tag-la-dodgers","12":"tag-ladodgers","13":"tag-los-angeles","14":"tag-los-angeles-dodgers","15":"tag-losangeles","16":"tag-losangelesdodgers","17":"tag-mlb
["GET
