On Wednesday, the New York Mets<\/a> will play the second game of their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> at Citi Field.<\/p>\n

The Mets are coming off a 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Mets Announce Notable Decision\"\"<\/p>\n

Before Wednesday\u2019s game, Carlos Mendoza announced that the team had made a notable decision for their upcoming stretch of games.<\/p>\n

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com wrote:<\/a> \u201cThe Mets will not move to a six-man rotation this week, as they had previously indicated they might. Carlos Mendoza said he\u2019s happy with where his top five starters are at, so Sean Manaea<\/a> will remain in the bullpen for now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manaea has a 1.80 ERA in his first two games of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

Manaea\u2019s MLB Background<\/p>\n

Manaea was the 34th pick in the 2013 MLB<\/a> Draft.<\/p>\n

He spent the first six years of his career playing for the Athletics.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old then had quick stints with the San Diego Padres<\/a> and San Francisco Giants<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He is coming off a year where he went 2-4 with a 5.64 ERA in 15 games (12 were starts).<\/p>\n

Out of 245 career games, he has started 210 times.<\/p>\n
