It was a disaster all around yesterday for the Royals, but some speculation states that the Guardians might\u2019ve been stealing signs from the Royals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cleveland broke open the game when \u00c1ngel Mart\u00ednez hit a grand slam in the eighth inning off Steven Cruz. Rocchio was on second base and seemed to steal the Royals\u2019 signs. At least that\u2019s what X user G-Men Man believed, and you can see why in this video.<\/p>\n

The game had a scary moment, when Cole Ragans took a comebacker off his throwing thumb, Anne Rogers of MLB.com<\/a> said he avoided anything serious.<\/p>\n

The day ended with position player Tyler Tolbert on the mound in the Royals\u2019 10-2 loss and worry about Ragans\u2019 left hand, which was hit by a 92.4 mph comebacker off the bat of Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00edrez in the bottom of the first inning. It led to Ragans\u2019 exit after just two-thirds of an inning and 18 pitches.<\/p>\n

The good news: It sounds like Ragans avoided the worst, diagnosed with a left thumb contusion and not suffering any fractures. He and the Royals are confident he\u2019ll be OK moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust a little stiff, obviously, wore it directly off the hand,\u201d Ragans said. \u201cBut, you know, should be good to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a really tough start for the Royals bullpen; Kevin O\u2019Brien of Royals Keep<\/a> talked about the worry level.<\/p>\n

Through 11 games, the Royals rank 26th in bullpen ERA (6.17) and are tied for 25th in reliever fWAR (-0.5). In terms of the former, the Nationals, Diamondbacks, Astros, and Rays have been worse in reliever ERA. Regarding the latter, they are tied with the Rays and Cardinals.<\/p>\n

Across the state, Jordan Walker<\/a> of the Cardinals has homered for the 4th time in 5 games, as the cleanup hitter.<\/p>\n
