{"id":671982,"date":"2026-04-09T23:00:23","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T23:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/671982\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T23:00:23","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T23:00:23","slug":"blue-jays-get-ideal-max-scherzer-injury-news-after-arm-problem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/671982\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Jays get ideal Max Scherzer injury news after arm problem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The injuries just continue to pile up for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/toronto-blue-jays\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>, and at some point, something is going to have to give. It&#8217;s very unfortunate that the Blue Jays are going through this to start the year, but there could be some bright sides to it as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, while all injuries are horrible, it&#8217;s better to deal with injuries in April than it is in September and October. If the Blue Jays can get healthy during the later stages of the year, they could be fine.<\/p>\n<p>The injury bug continued earlier in the week when Max Scherzer left his start with forearm tendinitis. Scherzer obviously isn&#8217;t what he once was, but he&#8217;s still a respected veteran who can get outs at a very high level, showing that in Game 7 of the World Series a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>While the injury is concerning, as most forearm injuries are, it doesn&#8217;t sound like it&#8217;ll be too big of an issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManager John Schneider is \u201cfairly confident\u201d that Scherzer will make his next start, but any forearm issue is worrying. This popped up after Scherzer\u2019s last start, and the plan was for a max of three innings Monday, so he hopes that by cutting this short, he\u2019ll be able to bounce back for his next start this coming weekend,\u201d Keegan Matheson of MLB.com <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/max-scherzer-exits-early-against-dodgers#:~:text=This%20popped%20up%20after%20Scherzer&#039;s,staff%2C%20those%20were%20explicit%20directions.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Even if Scherzer has to miss a start or two along the way, I don&#8217;t think this will be too much of a problem. However, the Blue Jays are going to have to start getting creative in their starting rotation, and that could lead to problems in the bullpen and in other areas.
