The Tokay High boys golf team won the first SJAA meet on Tuesday, carding a team score of 425, ahead of second-place Bear Creek at 432.<\/p>\n
Jacob Garibaldi took the low individual score among the eight teams, carding a 5-under 67 on the par-72 course at Swenson Golf Course in Stockton. Bear Creek\u2019s Nicolas Zamora carded a 78 for the next-best score.<\/p>\n
For Tokay, Asher Pitchford scored an 86, Elijah Lo scored 87, Haroon Khan carded an 89, Eddy Talamantes had a 96 and Landon Benov scored 108.<\/p>\n
Tokay is scheduled to play a non-league match against Amador on April 15 at Micke Grove Golf Links, before getting back into SJAA play the next day against Chavez back at Swenson Golf Course.<\/p>\n
Varsity: Edison 9, Tokay 1<\/p>\n
The Tigers took a loss in a showdown for the top spot in the SJAA on Wednesday, dropping to 7-2 in league play at 10-11 overall.<\/p>\n
Tokay tallied three hits, a single each from Brendon Benov, Gavin Severson and Cooper Whatley.<\/p>\n
Tokay and Edison will finish their two-game series today at Tokay High.<\/p>\n
The JV Flames held off the Bulldogs by a run on Wednesday at Zupo Field, with a six-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning turning the tide.<\/p>\n
Alex Jorgensen led the Lodi attack with a 3-for-4 day, with two doubles and three RBIs. Greg Smith added a double, Elliot Walker had a single and two RBIs, and Mack Stone, Cruz Andes and Brayden Haag each singled.<\/p>\n
The Tigers had nine hits and nine walks with Wednesday\u2019s victory, with two hits apiece from Fabian Ramos and Nolan Palacio.<\/p>\n
Palacio went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs, Ramos went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs, Waahib Khan doubled with three RBIs, Memphis Herrera tripled with two runs, and Nathan McCurry doubled with two runs.<\/p>\n
Varsity: Edison 3, Tokay 0<\/p>\n
The Tigers dropped to 4-6 in SJAA play, and 9-15 overall, with Wednesday\u2019s 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 loss. Tokay will host Chavez next Monday.<\/p>\n
Varsity: Lodi Academy 3, Vanguard Prep 0<\/p>\n
The Titans improved to 4-0 in Mountain Valley League play, and 6-4 overall, with Wednesday\u2019s 25-11, 25-12, 25-17 victory.<\/p>\n
