The Los Angeles Angels<\/a> are off to a decent start by their standards, with a record of 6-7 and tied for second in the AL West. However, they\u2019re likely to fall apart, and might have to make some decisions, like actually starting a true rebuild.<\/p>\n

FanSided\u2019s Christopher Kline<\/a> predicts they finally could hit the big red button, and use their breakout ace, Jose Soriano, as their main trade chip. Soriano has had an insane start to 2026, and could net the Halos a multitude of top prospects.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt appears that 27-year-old Jos\u00e9 Soriano is taking “the leap” for the Los Angeles Angels\u2026He’s under club control through 2028, so there’s no immediate pressure on the Angels to trade him \u2014 especially if Anaheim can continue to compete beyond its means. That said, we know how things tend to go with this team. The Angels don’t have the depth of talent necessary to contend. Soriano pitching like this, with that much control, could net a massive haul on the trade front, boosting a weak farm system and helping L.A. pivot toward the future,\u201d Kline wrote.<\/p>\n

So far this season, Soriano has posted a 3-0 record, a 0.45 ERA, 21 Ks, and a WHIP of 0.650 over 20 innings pitched. If he can keep this up, he could easily win the AL Cy Young.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s also only set to make<\/a> $2.9 million this season, and has two years of control after. With that in mind, almost every contender could be licking their chops to get him.<\/p>\n

That means whoever gets him is basically giving the Angels their farm, including most, if not all, their top prospects. This would be amazing for L.A., as they really have no clear core of the future to build around. Hopefully, they find a partner, and start the rebuild fans have been waiting for.<\/p>\n
