On Friday night, the New York Mets<\/a> lost to the Athletics (at home) by a score of 4-0.<\/p>\n

The Mets will play two more games against the Athletics before heading to Los Angeles for a series with the Dodgers<\/a> (on April 13).<\/p>\n

New York Mets Player Announces Personal News\"\"<\/p>\n

A.J. Minter<\/a> (who is one of the most valuable pitchers on the Mets) has yet to appear in a game this season.<\/p>\n

He is still recovering from season-ending surgery in 2025.<\/p>\n

Anthony DiComo of <\/a>MLB<\/a>.com wrote (on April 9):<\/a> \u201cA.J. Minter (torn left lat) made his first competitive appearance in 50 weeks today, throwing a perfect inning for Single-A St. Lucie with one strikeout. Minter averaged 93 mph on his fastball and hit 93.5. Still looking at a late April\/early May return to the Mets\u2019 bullpen.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Friday, Minter (and his wife) announced heartfelt personal news on Instagram.<\/p>\n

They wrote:<\/a> \u201cAn answered prayer. Our little miracle. Baby Minter \ud83e\udef6\ud83c\udffc\ud83d\udd4a\ufe0f<\/p>\n

Our precious rainbow baby that is the glue that put our broken hearts back together. We carry both sorrow for the baby we won\u2019t meet on earth, and JOY that Jesus would give us another gift to raise up unto the Lord! Every good and perfect gift is from above! After loss comes light and if you\u2019re walking through longing or loss, you are in our prayers\ud83c\udf08\ud83e\udebd<\/p>\n

Sweet baby, each day growing you is a blessing and a testament that God\u2019s plan is more perfect than we ever imagined. We cannot wait to be your mommy and daddy\ud83e\udd0d<\/p>\n

\u201cI prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.\u201d 1 Samuel 1:27-28\u201d<\/p>\n

There were over 6,000 likes on the post in less than 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Minter\u2019s MLB Career\"\"<\/p>\n

Minter has spent nine seasons in the MLB.<\/p>\n

He is coming off a year where he had a 1.64 ERA in 13 games for the Mets.<\/p>\n

Prior to New York, the 32-year-old had spent the first eight years of his career with the Atlanta Braves.<\/p>\n

They won the World Series Championship in 2021.<\/p>\n
