Before Saturday\u2019s game, A.J. Hinch<\/a> was reminded he sat one win shy of 400 as manager of the Detroit Tigers.<\/p>\n

His response? Classic Hinch.<\/p>\n

\u201cShould\u2019ve got it last week,\u201d he said, without missing a beat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t have to wait much longer.<\/p>\n

Tigers Deliver in 6-1 Win<\/p>\n

Detroit took care of business Saturday afternoon, beating the Miami Marlins 6-1 at Comerica Park. The victory not only secured the series momentum but also etched Hinch\u2019s name into another piece of franchise history.<\/p>\n

With the win, Hinch became just the eighth manager in Tigers history to reach the 400-win mark with the club.<\/p>\n

It also placed him in rare company across the league.<\/p>\n

Joining Exclusive Company<\/p>\n

Hinch is now one of only two active managers to record 400 wins with two different teams, joining Terry Francona.<\/p>\n

He previously compiled 481 wins during his tenure with Houston, building a r\u00e9sum\u00e9 that continues to grow in Detroit.<\/p>\n

Still, Hinch didn\u2019t linger on the accomplishment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate it,\u201d he said. \u201cI just know however many wins you get as a manager, you always feel you should have a little bit more.\u201d<\/p>\n

That perspective has become a defining trait of Hinch\u2019s leadership style.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have an incredible job in an incredible city,\u201d Hinch said. \u201cI do respect how long it takes to pile up a number of things like that. But it\u2019s not about me. It\u2019s about the staff around me and the group that we get to go to battle with. I\u2019m very fortunate to be in this position.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Moment, But Not the Mission<\/p>\n

For the Tigers, the win mattered for more than just history. It offered another step forward early in the season and a reminder of the steady direction the club has taken under Hinch\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n
